The president of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, José Manuel Caballero, visited Campo de Montiel this morning with the aim of checking the excellent condition in which the CR-6331 highway has been left, which connects the towns of Terrinches and Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos, after the intervention that has been undertaken with the aim of improving communications in the region.
Caballero, who has been accompanied by the vice president who manages the Infrastructure area, Manuel Martínez López Alcorocho, has highlighted the involvement of the provincial institution in the development of rural areas. He highlighted that in two and a half years, eight Industry Email List actions have been carried out on roads in Campo de Montiel, various works that, added to the remaining four, add up to an investment in bidding of around 10 million euros. And he has shown his satisfaction because all the milestones that were set at the beginning of this mandate are being met.
He mentioned, after being received by the mayor of Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos, Isidro Sánchez, and the mayor of Terrinches, Ana García, the commitment he has to Campo de Montiel. Proof of this is that with the four works that will be undertaken from now on, the Provincial Council's road network in this natural region will be completed. All of them are projected and budgeted and, as he has advanced, he hopes that they will be launched soon.
"We are talking about an action from Montiel to Villanueva de la Fuente, another from Montiel to Almedina. We are going to finish the second phase from Cózar to Valdepeñas, which has already been completed, and we have a small action left from Torre de Juan Abad to his sanctuary," he commented.
For Caballero, it is important to intervene in what has to do with the right of citizens to connection, "to be able to connect and move to points of interest, to receive services, enjoy leisure or to go to work. Hence is making a very important effort so that the men and women who live in Campo de Montiel have safe mobility in quality conditions.
In this regard, he considers that the works that have been carried out have a very positive effect in Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos and Terrinches, especially in the second municipality, "which registers a traffic of 400 vehicles over a population of 600 inhabitants who have right to be able to move with guarantees to the place where they wish".
We are carrying out actions that have a significant cost from the point of view of economic resources for populations that have few inhabitants and we could consider that it is not justified to invest in an area because it has few inhabitants. On the contrary, it is very justified, more justified "said Caballero, who added that precisely this "is working for the rural world, promoting communications and connections, allowing them to have equal access to services, guaranteeing their rights."
Isidro Sánchez, for his part, has highlighted that, in addition to the investment that the Provincial Council has made in the road that connects his town with Terrinches, it has also intervened in the Montiel road and in the crossing that passes through Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos and that unites these two paths. The adaptation of the road, as he said, was also very necessary because school transport travels there.
The mayor of Terrinches, for her part, commented on the high level of connection that exists between the two towns, for which she thanked the Provincial Council for improving the road and facilitating communication between two small towns. The road, which was conditioned more than two decades ago, had obvious irregularities and also very worn-out stretches of road surface, which is why it had to be reinforced. It connects Terrinches with the northern area of the Montiel region and constitutes the natural exit to the municipality of Villanueva de los Infantes. From Santa Cruz de los Cáñamos it facilitates the passage of road traffic towards Andalusia.
